I’ve been off work ill for the past 3 days, struck down by a special combo comparable to the likes of the moves on Street Fighter. My eyes were watering, there was pain and I felt beat up for sure.
I’ve been trying to point the finger at the source of this affliction:
a) Was it the kid who coughed at me at the shop?
b) Was it the man who sneezed at me on the bus?
c) Or, was it the dirty cutlery and plates at the restaurant I was taken to at the group lunch?

More than likely it was a accumulation of all those germs, I felt like I had a bad cold and then swiftly followed by the flu. There is little I hate more than being at home unable to do anything:
a) Using computer = eyes hurt
b) Listening to music = ears hurt
c) Making plans on paper or drawing = head hurts
d) Speaking = throat hurts
e) Reading a book = eyes and head hurts

The definite special combo from the above would be to read a ebook aloud from a computer screen whilst listening to myself.

This morning I noticed a difference, my bus ride was more cheerful, the sun was shining, the wind was breezy and there were more people out. Yes spring has arrived! Last week when the hazard snow came, I decided in light of the obviously impending (at that point) doom of travelling conditions to leave forty five minutes later than normal. Forty five minutes and I still arrive on time! It’s ridiculous! But back to today, where was I? Oh yes, the sun shining, the birds chirping and the clouds that fluff in that particular way which tells you that cheerful weather is soon to approach.

Weather is paramount to the majority of conversations: “How’s the weather over there?” , “Weather’s not looking too good is it?” , “Could have done with a brolly eh?” It’s such a general subject which can be applied in use to: family, friends and absolute strangers. Such is the phenomenon. I suppose it is such a common subject because it is physically all around us, it’s right in our faces and affects in small or extreme ways, our day to day lives.

What I want to know is: “What do meterologists talk about?”

I’m not a big coffee drinker, I used to be a huge coffee drinker, but not anymore (especially when you start hankering after one and you’ve got the shakes). Today however, push came to shove and I had to break out the coffee before I started biting everybodys heads off. It’s a Monday morning. Deep breaths: in … and out. The act of drinking and the smell of the coffee helped to calm me down, it is more a psychosis effect that I am after.

Did I mention it was a decaffinated coffee?

Having been working in the land of media and films, I have become more appreciative of the need for high quality sound from computers. This is something that I have neglected with Herman and to which I have now rectified. I have limited space, and previously had a 6.1 speaker set of which I only ever had a 2.1 set up, I just didn’t have the space for the other 4. So this year, I finally decided enough was enough and sold the old 6.1 and last week went shopping. I now have a 2.0 set up with newly installed soundcard.

I can really hear and feel the difference. Another thing I noticed that in certain songs, I’ve discovered I can hear extra instruments that I’m sure weren’t there previously! Now that is what I call a soundcard! Impressive.

Of course! But at least I am reviewing the way I have been blogging, after all the body is weak but the mind is willing.
